He rose to prominence as the lead vocalist of the supergroup Storyville in the 1990s and later pursued a solo career, releasing recordings with The Malford Milligan Band and The Southern Aces. He has won eight Austin Music Awards for Best Vocalist and was named the Austin Chronicle's "Best Male Vocalist of the Decade" in 2000.
