Monte Good began performing professionally at age seven and formed his first band, Monte Good and the Goodtimers, while in high school. He moved to Nashville in 1989 and worked as a multi-instrumentalist (including pedal steel) for multiple major acts, later serving as bandleader and tour manager for George Canyon. He released the album A Texas Honky Tonk (2012) and was a 2021 nominee with the Texas County Music Association.
