About
The Paisley Fields is a Brooklyn-based alt-country band, playing a mix of country, rock, and blues. Their sound is Garth Brooks meets The Head and the Heart with a touch of Patsy Cline’s heartbreaking twang.
The group is fronted by singer, pianist, and two-time ASCAP songwriters’ award winner James Wilson. Jessica Kimple, a trained opera singer, adds harmony to the band’s sound. Guitarist/sound engineer Joe Kimple and Grammy-winning percussionist Rob Knopper are also founding members. Cassie Naaktgeboren and Ryan Pearson recently joined the band, lending their skills on vocals and bass guitar, respectively.
The band draws inspiration from musicians as varied as Dolly Parton, Elton John, Tom Waits, and Elvis Presley.
“We are at once country, bohemian, and post-modern musicians,” James states. “We are inspired by current artists, but are also deeply inspired by the music we grew up with in the Midwest, as well as musicians from the 50s and 60s.”
The proof is in the music. The Paisley Fields’ first tour featured a show in the home of country music, Nashville, Tennessee. The band was named a top country band in NYC by multiple media outlets, along with receiving accolades from international media.
The Paisley Fields tour regularly and plans to put out a series of music videos featuring forthcoming singles later this year. The band would love to play at your event/college/bar/venue/house party. To bring The Paisley Fields to you, contact them at thepaisleyfields[at]gmail[dot]com.
