Party for the Parks brings together parks people from across Austin for a night of revelry, live music and more nestled in the heart of the Austin City Limits Music Festival in Zilker Park!
Showcasing the best of the Platinum ACL festival experience, partygoers will enjoy an all-inclusive, premium experience with awesome eats, treats, drinks, games and fun culminating in a private concert by Cold War Kids—all while helping to raise essential funds for Austin’s nearly 400 parks, trails and green spaces.
Cold War Kids
The epic tale of Cold War Kids has long been defined by deeply personal songcraft, enthusiastic experimentation, and an avowed commitment to forward motion. Over nearly two decades, the California indie-rock outfit has grown from gritty Long Beach beginnings into one of modern rock’s most enduring bands — amassing over 1 billion streams across their catalog and earning a devoted global fanbase through alternative radio hits, critically praised albums, and electrifying live performances.
Across ten studio albums and numerous EPs, Cold War Kids have left an undeniable mark on the contemporary music landscape. Their 2015 Platinum single “First” remains one of the most played tracks at alternative radio over the past decade, and they continue to blend sincere storytelling with captivating instrumentation.
In 2023 the band released their self-titled 10th LP, Cold War Kids — a work that reflects both their roots and ongoing evolution. The album features standout singles like “Double Life,” “Run Away With Me,” and “Heaven in Your Hands.” 2025 saw the release of an emotionally charged tribute to the band’s longtime friend, Richard Swift, titled “Any Day Now.” In 2026 the band will celebrate the 20th anniversary of Robbers & Cowards which will come with touring across North America and the rest of the world.

Trevor Scott is an Austin television personality and host of the CBS Austin morning lifestyle program ‘We Are Austin.’ You can catch him on TV every weekday morning highlighting the people, stories, and organizations that make central Texas such a special place to call home. He has a passion for storytelling and a career in television that spans more than 20 years, with experience in front of and behind the camera. Trevor is actively involved in many of Austin’s non-profit efforts and is always looking for opportunities to engage with the community in positive, productive ways. He is a big fan of Austin’s parks and green spaces, especially Auditorium Shores where our bustling city’s iconic skyline mingles with the tree tops for a truly unique nature experience.

Sarah K. Wolf is an Austin enthusiast and creator of Good Party ATX, where she shares news on upcoming Austin events and ways to give back to the community. You can find her every Friday on the CBS Austin morning show We Are Austin with her weekly event picks and adoptable dogs. Sarah enjoys spending time at Austin events, going to the movies, and making memories with her pup at Red Bud Isle.
