Half Empty Half Full Literary Comedy Show

About
Half Empty Half Full is a literary comedy game show with a twist! Optimism versus pessimism—Austin's sharpest and wittiest stand-up comics and writers share their talents and compete to determine if the glass is half empty or half full. The show's host, comedian and poet Valerie Nies (McSweeney's, Rattle, and the comedy show Smile More), is joined by a panel of clever judges to choose who wins: the comedians and writers who see life half full or half empty!
September's lineup includes optimistic stand-up comic Andrew Horneman competing against pessimistic Sam Noorani. On the literary side, cartoonist and award-winning essayist Ilene Haddad (NY Times), reads original optimistic work and faces off against pessimist poet C.M. Moorhead (Sneaky Ottoman Review).
This month's judging panel includes: seasoned comedic and literary pros Regina Soto (Candy Necklace; Glitterwitch), Bill Carroll (FronteraFest), and Half Empty regular actor/comedian/roastmaster general Tyler Randle.
